1 QUEENSTOWN COMMISSIONERS September 25, 2019 PRESENT: President Thomas B. Willis, Jr., Commissioner Al Hardee, Commissioner Holger Schuster, Lyndsey Ryan, Town Attorney, and Amy Moore, Town Manager/Clerk. REGULAR MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M. GUESTS- none PUBLIC WORKS - Amy Moore Reported on meeting with Bob Rauch and Peter Dudley regarding acquiring land along Rt. 456 fora a new water tower. Several options discussed. Mr. Rauch advised could bel by with 1/3 of an acre. Mr. Dudley will go back to family and provide a proposal to the town soon. Reported that Barry Waterman offered land on Wheatland's for the towerifneeded. Mr. Rauch: needs to run a water model used in the original evaluation to confirm that we could still get the same water pressures and flows at the remotel locations in town that currently have problems. Commissioners would like Ms. Ryan to contact Mr. Rauch and have him figure up Interior work on the Outlets tower began last week. Should take 2-3 weeks weather permitting. Notice to proceed has been given to Video Pipe. Work should begin in a week or SO. Complaints ofdiscolored water. Tidewater flushed Harbor Lane, where two complaints were from. The other is from Del Rhodes Ave. Mike Funk, senior operator at' Tidewater, advised that any person operating a water system, treatment plant or distribution system, must havea license. They can come up with aj plan to get our system flushed, but will need tol have an internal discussion on how they want to proceed. Clerk to check on license and maybe can Commissioners would like to open the wastewater plant for residents to tour and see the operations of the facility. Look at a date in October/November. There was a discussion to dedicate the facility in honor ofLane Cole. Commissioner Hardee motioned to name the facility the "E. Lane Cole Public Works Facility". FINANCE COMMITTEE -I No update President Willis motioned to have the Finance Committee look into impact fees and increasing connection fees. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hardee. Fund checking 9 135,896.76 $ 139,368.59 2 WWTP Project checking $ 8,259.86 Commissioners signed a letter authorizing the closure oft the WWTP checking account. President Willis motioned to support the Officer Phil program with the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office with a $199 ad in the booklet. Motion seconded by Commissioner Schuster. Clerk advised a policing schedule was drafted and sent to Sheriff. Hoffman. Per the Sheriff, he believes he can cover all shifts under his overtime budget and there shouldn'tbe any cost to the town at least through October.
