Boyce Town Council Meeting April2,2024 Meeting called to order by Mayor Zack Hudson at7:00 PM Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence Hudson were absent. Roll call Berkeley Reynolds, Carol Coffelt, Dennis Hall, and Zack Hudson were present. Whitney Maddox and Floyd Approval of Minutes from the March 5, 2024, Meeting - Motion to approve minutes as written by Carol Coffelt, second by Berkeley Reynolds. No discussion. Passed 4-0. Reports Town Administrator: Matt Hoff: (see report) Zack Hudson asked about when the council can expect an estimated update for outstanding personal property tax bills. Steve will have information for the council later this month. Zack Hudson asked about the singular remaining outstanding! business license. Jayson has spoken to the business owner, who stated he does not doa loto ofbusiness, repeatedly, but he has not rectified the issue. Dennis Hall asked if he collects sales tax, which he does not. Dennis Hall asked about issuance ofal burn permit for the past weekend. Matt Hoff stated that there were none issued. Berkeley Reynolds requested that Matt Hoffa ask Cathy Kuehner to share the current Boyce job openings on social media. Jayson for his service to the Town of Boyce as his last day on the job will be April 6, 2024. Carol Coffelt confirmed that the amendment to the comprehensive plan that was shared with the council during the March work session was what the planning commission was approving. David Winsatt confirmed. Clarke County's reappraisal of real estate is approximately 30% çomplete. There will be a public hearing on FY2025 budget on April 8, 2024. Real estate tax rates remain the same, but due to the rising composite index Board of Supervisors: Bev McKay: personal property rates will be back to pre-covid levels. Short term rentals/Amendment to Comprehensive Plan: Old/Ongoing Business Amotion was made by Dennis Hall to pass the amendment to the comprehensive plan and seconded by Berkeley Reynoids. Caroi Coffelt shared concerns about not including accommodations for future bed and breakfast businesses or real estate contract requirements. The council agreed to table this issue until the April Zack Hudson, Matt Hoff, and Steve Blakeslee will meet on April 8 to finalize the proposed budget for FY2025. work session so that David Griffin can weigh in. Pot Hole Repair- - Berkeley Reynolds requested that Mr. Hoff get proposals for repair oft the pothole concerns on Huntingdon. Avenue and Sharon Drive.
