TOWN OF NEWWINDSOR RESOLUTION NO. 06-17-24  WHEREAS, by virtue of the authority contained in Local Government Article 5-101 et seq of the Annotated Code of Maryland and Section 205-37 of the Code of the Town of New Windsor, the Mayor and Council are authorized to establish a schedule of fees for  the public water and sewer systems within the Town; and  WHEREAS, the existing rate schedule does not specify water and sewer service  connection fees for non-residential users; and  WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined to clarify these rates; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF NEW WINDSOR that the applicable base service connection rates for  water and sewer service for non-residential users shall be as follows:  ARTICLE 1.  A. The water service connection rate shall be Nine thousand, Nine hundred, Forty- five thousand dollars ($9,945.00) per each Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) of the non- residential user, as calculated by the usage schedules established by the Maryland  Department of the Environment.  B. The sewer connection service rate shall be Eight thousand, Eighty-one dollars ($8,081.00) per each Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) of the non-residential user, as calculated by the usage schedules established by the Maryland Department of the  Environment.    C. Equivalent Dwelling Units (EDU) are calculated as follows:  Total required water demand in gallons per day (GPD) divided by 250 GPD in accordance with Maryland Department of the Environment established schedule. Total EDUS are  multiplied by the water service and sewer service connection rates.  D. After. July 1, 2025, the water and sewer: service connection fees shall automatically  increase at a rate of Three Percent (3%) annually.  ARTICLE 2.  This Resolution shall apply to all connections to public water and sewer service in  existence on June 17, 2024 or thereafter established.  ARTICLE 3.
