May 17, 2024 Meeting Minutes  County of Elk Special Salary Board  Elk County, Ridgway, PA  The County ofElk Commissioners met on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 10:00AM, County ofElk Courthouse Thomas G. Wagner Conference Room. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Present were Commissioners M. Fritz Lecker, Matthew G. Quesenberry and Gregory J.C Gebauer. Also present were Patrick Straub, ChiefClerk; Emily Anders, Office Administrator; Dan Rimer, IT; Matthew Frey, Treasurer; Scott Atwell, Warden; Jen Barnett, Warden Secretary;  and Todd Caltagrone, Sheriff. Excused was. Rick Brown, Solicitor  FORMALITY:  Commissioners M. Fritz Lecker, Matthew Quesenberry, and Gregory Gebauer along with Treasurer, Matthew Frey comprise the members oft the Elk County Salary Board. The Chair oft the Salary Board is M. Fritz Lecker as she is Chair for the County Commissioners. Motion by Gregory J. Gebauer to approve, second by Matthew G. Quesenberry and carried  APPROVAL OF AGENDA unanimously. NEW BUSINESS  1. Create one full time temporary acting Deputy Warden position for the Elk County Prison fora a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of approval. Should the Deputy' Warden be capable to returning to regular job responsibilities, the acting Deputy' Warden position willi immediately terminate. Additionally, ifav vacancy would exist within the Deputy Warden position, the acting Deputy' Warden position will terminate concurrently with thet first day of employment oft the new Deputy' Warden. This position will be at a rate of pay not to exceed $29.36/Hr. This position is needed as the current Deputy Warden is out on an extended leave. Ifthis temporary position is needed for more than the 90 days, this will be revisited. A motion made by Gregory J. Gebauer, seconded by Matthew Frey, carried  unanimously.
