Monday, November: 22, 2021 @ 6:45 p.m.; Council convened asa a Hearing Boardi in order tol hear and receive comments, written and oral, reviews and havec discussion ont the proposed Liquor License transfer from Sandy Township (Allegheny Ovens, Inc.)tot the City of DuBois (Invictus Defense, LLC). Mayor Walsho opened ther meeting at 6:47 p.m. Other Council Members present were: James Aughenbaugh, Diane Bernardo, Shane Dietz, and Shannon Gabriel. Also present were: City Manager, John' "Herm" Suplizio; City Solicitor, Toni Cherry; Police Chief, Blaine Clark and City Mayor Walsh openedt the publicl hearing at 6:47 p.m. and promptly turnedi the meeting over to City  Secretary, Bobbie Shaffer. Solicitor Cherry.  Solicitor Cherry asked Mr.. Joel Morrisoni ifh his attorney was attending.  Mr. Morrison: statedi thath het told his attorney he would! be attending and answering any questions. Solicitor Cherry askedi if Joe Morrisoni ist the sole owner of Invictus Defense, LLC.  Mr. Morrison confirmed! hei is. Mr. Morrison confirmed! hel had.  Solicitor Cherry askedi ifh hel had contracted withi the state top purchase the liquor license inc question. Solicitor Cherry explained that thel Liquor Licensei is currently held! by Allegheny Ovens, Inc. (former Italian Oven)i in Sandy Township and Mr. Morrison! had purchasedi itf fromt the state for his businessi in the City of DuBois (Invictus Defense, LLC). The Cityr musta accept the licensei in order for Mr. Morrison  tou usei iti inh his establishment.  Solicitor Cherry asked Mr. Morrison where his business is located.  Mr. Morrison stated 650 DuBois ST (formerly Kohlhepp & Sons)by ACE Hardware. Solicitor Cherry askedi ifN Mr. Morrison currently has a restaurant att that location. Mr. Morrison: stated currently they dor not but! hei ist thinking of possibly having food; something  simple like pizza orr nachos.  Solicitor Cherry askedi ifp patrons have requested food ont the premises.  Mr. Morrison confirmed they! have.  Solicitor Cherrya asked what! his business consists of.  Mr. Morrison stated weapons; such as, axes, spears, etc. thaty yout throw at targets. Hei is thinking of adding rager rooms that people would be ablet to goi ina and smasht things tor relieve stress. Solicitor Cherry askedif Council approves the transfer does Mr. Morrisoni feel the ownership ofa  liquor license would! help! his business. Mr. Morrison confirmed he did.  Solicitor Cherry askedi ifh hel has madea any accommodations: for weapons and alcohol safeguards. Mr. Morrisons statedt that currently itisb byob,i ifs someone isi intoxicatedi they arer not allowed tot throw. Het feels he would have more controli if hel hada a liquor license.
