147  Work Session Meeting Minutes- May 12, 2022  City Council Chambers, City Building, 16 West Scribner Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 12, 2022 @ 4p.m.; Council convened at their regular Work Session with Mayor Walshi in the Chair. Other Council Members present were: Jim Aughenbaugh, Diane Bernardo, Shane Dietz (Phone), and Shannon Gabriel. Also present were: City Manager, John' "Herm" Suplizio; IT Director, Matt. Johnson; and City Secretary, Bobbie Shaffer.  Absent: David Volpe, City Controller Approval of Minutes Review for Monday Approval of Registry ofl Invoices Review for Monday Grant Letter  City Manager Suplizio stated that it was a goodr meeting with Rick Vilello from DCED. They discussed grants and the consolidation. Township Manager Arbaugh and City Manager Suplizio have written al letter to DCED requesting three grants; there is no guarantee but can'thurt to ask. The grants cover threel building projects: Municipal Building renovations; Construction of new Fire Station on Maple Avenue; and Construction of new Fire Station on Route 255. Suplizio went ont to say, that thel letter willl be on the 101 Person. Joint Board agenda for Monday. They are looking for support fromi the 10 Person. Joint Board. Having more time may not be al badt thing, ifv we can gett the same person tol build the! bridge that is building thep plant, we may geta al better price. He went on to sayt that Council can vote ont the City Engineer's recommendationt tonight or they can mulli it over until Monday. Ther motion was madel by Gabriel ands seconded by Aughenbaugh that Council accept the recommendation: of Engineer Nasuti and reject bids one through five and award number six to the low bidder after theJ July 20, 2022 PennVEST meeting. Roll call vote was asi follows: Gabriel, yea; Dietz, yea; Bernardo, yea; Aughenbaugh, yea; Walsh, yea. Motion passed 5-0. City! Manager Suplizio announced this service for First Responders; he went on to sayt that last  Blue Mass - May 22nd @ Noon- - St. Catherine's Church  yeari it was in Clearfield. Hei thinks the communities are taking turns.  Councilwoman - Diane Bernardo  Asked ITI Director. Johnson about Channel 19. Johnson stated that he has reached out forareplacement device. City Manager Suplizio stated that thei invoice is in the list of bills. Johnson went on to sayt that currently the Channel is up and down. Blue Mass - She believes that Sgt. Longoria would like to attend. Who would he contact? City Manager Suplizio stated D.A. Ryan Sayers.  Councilwoman - Shannon Gabriel  Twop people have expressed concerns with the exit from Sheetz ontol Brady Street. She would like to know if we can do anything. City Manager Suplizio stated that the City has talked to the state several times, there is nothing tol be done. He suggests Gabriel have Shei is working with K-9 Officer Rhed concerning the certificate presentation for Metzer's. Metzer'si is unablet to come on al Monday due toi their works schedules but  those individuals call thes statet themselves. they believe a Thursday' Work Session may work.  Councilman - Shane Dietz  Since we are making another softball fieldi in the park, what happens tot the basketball courts.
