Muralist John Comer attended the meeting to share details about his services and experience with other projects similar to the one being considered for Morgan Park. John has done Artist Therapy for over 20 years and sponsored "Sunsets by Brush" for over 7 years, including feature segments on the Weather Channel. His website address is After review of various examples, there was discussion around the final design concepts with a stingray and turtle with a light sand scene. John indicated that he could start sketches by June 3rd and would be available to start work within two weeks after final approval by the city council. www.99shadesofcrazy.com and he's also on FaceBook. The work could be completed in early July 2024. The final design will be as follows: FRONT: BACK: Turtle with sunrays & "Belleair Beach" above Stingray or Dolphin scene BATHROOM: Palm Trees with Sun in the background The paint will be an exterior latex by Sherwin Williams and it will be sealed with a cement sealer coating, which last approximately 20 years. It was decided to not pursue the community garden idea at this time, due to the lack of point person to oversee the project. The information presented by Kathleen Klaeser is captured in the April 25,2024PRB Minutes for future reference. 7. Merchandise Updates. Patti and city staff have completely organized the Belleair Beach Items for sale will be included in the newsletter and also advertised on Additionally, the Belleair Beach Community Foundation has ordered some new beach towels and pricing will be available soon. 8. Discussion of Beach Cleanup Point Person Each Month. merchandise inventory for easier tracking. the reader display board. Other Business. At the May 4th Beach Cleanup, a participant suggested that we consider adding Bayside Park as a cleanup location. It was discussed to alternate locations starting with June 1st date. For that date, Michael would be present at Bayside Park with supplies & refreshments, and Patti would be present at the 19th Street beach access to greet people and direct them to the new location. Motion passed 4-0 As at follow-up to last month's meeting, there was discussion about doing a community cook-out in lieu of the annual Halloween event to honor public safety officials. Due to other activities, it was decided to target For this year, there was discussion about doing a Football Chili Cook-Off on the weekend of October 26-27, which is already reserved for the city complex by the Parks & Recreation Board. Kyle to verify whether or not the Buccaneers have a home game that Sunday (October 27), as well as which major college games are being played on that Saturday Further discussion will take place at next month's meeting. this event for Spring 2025.
