City of Chelsea April 16th, 2024 Pre-Council Minutes Members ofthe Chelsea City Council met in ai regularly scheduled pre-council meeting on April 16, 2024, at 5:06 P.M. with Mayor Tony Picklesimer calling the meeting to order. The meeting was held in the Conference Room and open to the public. The following elected officials were found to bej present: Mayor Tony Picklesimer Councilmember Cody Sumners Councilmember Scott Weygand Councilmember Chris Grace Councilmember Casey Morris Councilmember Arthur Fisher, Jr. The following elected officials were found tol be absent: Others present: City Clerk, Crystal Etheredge and City Attorney, Mark Boardman The need for additional parking at the Highway 11 Athletic Complex was discussed along with possible locations. There was additional discussion regarding the agenda items. The pre-council meeting adjourned at 5:54 P.M. He also presented a proclamation declaring April 2024 as "National Child Abuse Prevention Month" which he! presented tol Laurel Teel, Owen's] House Executive. Director. Ai motion to1 receivet this proclamation to declare April as "National Child Abuse. Prevention Month" was made by Chris Grace and seconded by Next, he presented another proclamation declaring May 5th- May 11"h, 2024 as "Professional Municipal Clerks Week". Amotion to receive this proclamation and declare May 5th-11th as was made by Chris Grace and seconded by Cody Sumners. A voice vote was taken, and it was a unanimous, "Yes". Next, a PUBLIC HEARING for Proposed Ordinance RZ-2024-04-16-998 to approve a rezoning request submitted by Wes Davis (Polo Crossings, LLC) for property located at 15205 Highway 280, Chelsea, Alabama (Parcels #: 09.726.0.002.90.008000409725000013.00) consisting of+/-33 acres from B-2 (General Business District) to PMD (Planned Mixed Use District) was opened at 6:09PM. Conner Farmer (High Pointe Properties), Glen Siddle (Newcastle Homes), and Jake Ganus (Moody HS Football Coach/These Three Boutique) spoke in favor oft the rezoning. The public hearing was closed at Next, a Proposed Resolution 2024-04-16-1173 to reappoint Mary Ann Moore to the Library Board was next on the agenda.
