City of Chelsea May 21,2024 Pre-Council Minutes Members oft the Chelsea City Council met in ai regularly scheduled pre-council meeting on May 21,2024, at 5:00 P.M. with Mayor Tony Picklesimer calling the meeting to order. The meeting was held in the Conference Room and open to the public. The following elected officials were found to be present: Mayor Tony Picklesimer Councilmember Cody Sumners Councilmember Scott Weygand Councilmember Chris Grace Councilmember Arthur Fisher, Jr. Councilmember Casey Morris The following elected officials were found to be absent: Others present: Assistant City Clerk, Kayce Watkins, CFO Wayne Barber and City Attorney, Mark The mayor and council were presented with a 6-month financial departmental review. It was noted that the City of Chelsea was not making money off the Municipal Court. Innovate Alabama representatives from E-Footprints were on hand to announce the city had been awarded a $65,000 grant, answerc questions, and make suggestions on how the grant could be used. The focus was on electric charging stations and Wi-Fi. The mayor and council reviewed an updated drawing of the Highway 11 Sports Complex parking project that would add 80 spaces to the existing parking lot. There was additional discussion regarding the agenda items and when doing so, Councilman Sumners made ai motion to remove Resolution #1177 from the agenda and Councilman Weygand seconded. There was a voice vote, and it was a unanimous, "Yes". The pre-council meeting adjourned at 5:54 P.M.
