Forsyth County Board of Registrations & Elections May 21, 2024 General Primary and Nonpartisan General Election Certification Meeting May 28, 2024 at9a.m. Voter Registrations & Elections Office 1201 Sawnee Drive Cumming, GA 30040 MINUTES Present at the meeting: Barbara Luth, Chairman Joel Natt, Vice Chairman Carla Radzikinas, Secretary Anita Tucker, Assistant Secretary Dan Thalimer, Member Mandi Smith, Director Carol Balcome, Assistant to the Director Karen Pachuta, Jarrard & Davis Vote Review Panelists Rich Neville Renee Welch Kathleen Krummert Dee Roodehchi Greg Landon Tess Sharp I. Call Meeting to Order Chairman Luth called the meeting to order at 9 a.m. II. III. Pledge of Allegiance Adoption of Agenda Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Member Thalimer made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously. IV. Summary of voter turnout Director Smith reported the voter turnout was 12,187 on Election Day, 9306 during Advance Voting and 1011 absentee ballots by mail were received. V. Review of UOCAVA ballot(s) Director Smith stated no more UOCAVA ballots were received by the deadline. VI. Review of provisional absentee ballot(s) Director Smith reported three more absentee ballot cures were received by the deadline. These three absentee ballots will be tabulated today. There were seven absentee ballot cures that were not received by the deadline. Review of provisional ballot(s) issued during in person voting Director Smith reported there were a total of 32 provisional ballots cast on Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Assistant Secretary Tucker made a motion to accept the recommendation from staff and approve the Out of Precinct (OP) provisional ballots #1-28 for duplication and processing. Motion Director Smith reported provisional ballot #29 was OP and Photo Identification Required (PI) because the voter was out of precinct and did not have a photo Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Secretary Radzikinas made a motion to accept the recommendation from staff to reject provisional ballot #29 because the voter did not present their photo ID to the office by the deadline. Motion Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Assistant Secretary Tucker made a motion to accept the recommendation from staff and approve provisional ballot #30 because the voter submitted a passport card to the office by the deadline. Director Smith reported the voter's record for PR ballot #31 did not show correctly in Garvis on Election Day. Director Smith said she contacted the Secretary of State's Office for additional research and the record is now showing properly in active status at the address the voter wrote on the voter Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Assistant Secretary Tucker made a motion to accept the recommendation from staff to approve provisional ballot Director Smith reported the voter for PR ballot #32 indicated she registered to voter via vote.org. She said the voter forwarded an email from vote.org with details about the PPP that indicates she is a registered voter. The voter has not supplied our office with any communication from when she originally registered Assistant Secretary Tucker with a second from Member Thalimer made a motion to accept the recommendation from staff to reject provisional ballot #32. Motion carried unanimously. VIII. Processing of accepted ballots Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Member Thalimer made a motion to recess at 9:09 a.m. for duplication and tabulation of ballots. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman Luth called the meeting back to order at 10:27 a.m. Certification of Official and Complete Election Results IX. Vice Chairman Natt provided a review of the Official and Complete Election Vice Chairman Natt with a second from Assistant Secretary Tucker made a motion to certify the final election results. Motion carried unanimously. Summary. X. Adjourn Chairman Luth thanked the staff for everything they have done to run a successful election. She said they were the best team in the state.
