Thesel hearings were advertised in the Rappahannock' Times on April 24, 2024, and May 1,2024, asi required by Section 15.2-2506 ofthe 1950 Thep purpose oft the two public hearings was to provide an opportunity for the citizens of lappahannock to voice their opinion regarding the proposed general budget, water and sewer budget and cemetery budget for FY2024-2025 and ont the proposed water and sewer rates for FY: 2024-2025.  Code of Virginia, as amended.  CALLED TO ORDER Mayor Gladding called the meeting to order.  COMMENTS ON THEI PROPOSED BUDGETI FOR FY 2024-2025  Mayor Gladding asked for any comments from the council members regarding the proposed budget. Elaine Hilowitz statedt that she is coming beforet the Tappahannock' Town Council as a private citizen and aresident oft the Town to express her concerns about thej job of Community Development and Zoning Administrator being defundedi in FY: 2024-2025 budget. Shes stateds she feels defending the positioni isa step backwards for thet town. She also spoke as a member of the lappahannock Planning Commission and not for the whole commission. Shej praised Connie Dalton for going above and beyond her job description top provide the Commission members within depth information on various regulations and  There were none.  laws in the Town, County and State. and sewer rates for FY2 2024-2025.
