CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Thomas called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. 2. INVOCATION. - Invocation by Council Member Aaron Marshall. City Clerk prior tot the commencement. of the meeting. 3. Completed speaker's request forms must be submitted to the City Secretary at the beginning of the Council meeting. REGULAR AGENDA- (NON-CONSENT) 6. Consider and act to approve two (2) candidates for the Republic Scholarships for $500.00 Motion: Upon ai motion made by Melton and seconded by Dusenberry, the council voted four (4), one (1) abstained and, none (0) opposed approving Scarlet Trevino and Libby each. McCarty to receive the Republic Scholarships for $500.00 each. Council Member Dawson Nicholas arrived at 6:34 p.m. Moved to 9. Budget workshop at 6:42 p.m. 1IPage EXECUTIVE SESSION The council went into executive session at 8:29 p.m. 7. Executive Session as authorized by: Texas Government Code Sec. 551.071, Consultation with Attorney on a matter in which the duty ofthe attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct ofthe State Bar ofTexas clearly conflicts with this chapter (Open Meetings Act); Texas Government Code Section 551.074. Personnel Matters: evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee: -City Personal: interview(s) for the City Secretary position RECONVENE The council reconvened into regular session at 9:27 p.m. 8. Reconvene into regular session and consider action, ifany, on matters discussed in Executive Motion: Upon aj motion made by Melton and seconded by Ellis for no action, the Council Session. voted four (4) for one (1) abstained and, none (0) opposed. 9. BUDGET WORKSHOP- 2023-2024 CITY BUDGET Motion: Upon a motion made by Melton and seconded by Ellis to approve the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year Budget, the Council voted four (4) and, none (0) opposed. ADJOURNMENT Motion: Upon a motion made by Thomas and seconded by Ellis the Council voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to adjourning the Regular Session oft the Tom Bean City Council at 9:31 p.m. on Monday, May 20th, 2024.
