Belton City Council Meeting May 14, 2024-5 5:30 P.M. The Belton City Council met in regular session in the Wright Room of the Harris Community Center. Members present included Mayor David K. Leigh, Mayor Pro Tem John R. Holmes, Sr., Councilmembers Wayne Carpenter, Craig Pearson, Daniel Bucher, Stephanie O'Banion and Dave Covington. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas Flag was led by Director of Communications 1. Call to order. Mayor David K. Leigh called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m. 2. Leigh for the role of Mayor. Mayor Pro Tem Holmes seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved by a vote of 6-0. B. Select Mayor Pro Tem for one-year term Councimember Carpenter made a motion to nominate John R. Holmes, Sr., for the role of Mayor Pro Tem. Councilmember Pearson seconded the motion, and it was unanimously approved by a vote of 6-0. 6. Public Comments. (Audio 11:52) Mike McCloskey, from Congressman Carter's Office, reminded the Council that Congressman Carter is available to help Belton in any way that is needed. RESOLUTION NO. 2024-13-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BELTON, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE LEADERSHIP BELTON PROPOSAL FOR A GATEWAY MONUMENT SIGN TO BE LOCATED ALONG HIGHWAY 317 AT THE NORTHERN ENTRANCE TO THE CITY OF BELTON.
