Robinson  City Council Members Present: none Assistant City Manager: none Library Staff Present: J. McCart  Call Meeting to Order and Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by C. Thompson at 7:01 Approval of Minutes: M. Landrum requested the Announcements" section be revised with the correct date to read, "The next meeting oft the Library Board will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, at7 PM."M. Landrum motioned, m. G. Otto 2cd, alli in favor oft the motion to approve minutes, none  p.m. S. Copeland was not present. There is a quorum.  opposed, motion passed.  Citizen Comment Period with Library Board: none  Reports and Presentations:  1. Presentation of Kyle Public Library's FY22-23 Annual Report Public Libraries submit a report annually to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. This report will determine if libraries maintain accreditation with the state, which allow libraries to participate in TexShare Databases, TexShare Card Program, the Statewide Inter-library Loan Program, and the ability to apply for competitive grants through the State Library. The Kyle Public Library meets the minimum standards for  accreditation for FY: 22-23. Highlights from the report include: Total staff expenditures are up 16.15%. has the largest e-material count.  Print materials are up 3.33%, but electronic materials are up 157% where audio Library visits, registered users, and physical and digital circulation have  increased.  2. Library Director's Report  The Library Booksale is Saturday, May 4th: 10AM-2PM. There will be plastic shopping bags available for people toi fill for $5. Volunteers are needed the Friday The Children's area is getting a new look. The steps have been removed and new carpet will bei installed. Staff is currently painting a mural ini the area to resemble an enchanted forest glade. Completion is expected at the beginning of The Library is presenting its FY24-25 budget to City Council on May 22, 2024 and will include the following ini the budget proposal: Potentially asking for 2 programming librarians! specialists  before the event, during the event, and afterwards.  May.  1    Self-print station and updated Point-of-Sale technology  Abolish late and fax fees. obtain a library card. Increase in Collection Budget.  Implement Out-of-County fees for those outside of Hays County who wish to The City is working with Mosaic Public Partners, a recruiting firm, to find the next  Library Director. There is no timeline for this process.  Accomplishments: No new accompishments. 2. Friends of the Kyle Library Report  No new updates.
