Call to Order and Declaration of Quorum = Time: 7:00PM 2. Invocation- Mr. Bruce Mathews led the invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America - Ipledge Allegiance to the flag, of the United States of4 America, and to the Republic. for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. Those in attendance pledged allegiance to the United States of America. City Secretary Report- New website should hopefully be up and running at the end oft this month. Street Signs - East/FM 6 has been added to the list, installation is 3 weeks out. TCEQ - Heather and I completed a training call with TCEQ this week. MyGov Vv-Kickoffmeeting: was April 29th, as ofnow we are on track to go live in June. b. City Attorney Report- N/A Code Enforcement Report- Code Enforcement Officer Wagner provided an updated report to the Council. d. P&Z Report- e. EDC Report- Chairman Newton provided an update to the Council regarding Planning & Zoning activities. President Mathews provided an update to the Council with Nevada EDC projects. Financial Report (2nd Council Meeting)- N/A Mayor Pro Tem Report- h. Mayor's Report/Status- installations: MPT addressed the tax rate roll back and the effects on the city's current and future budget. Mayor addressed comments made on social media and provided an update on the traffic light FM6 6 & 1138 - Installation date of May 13,2024 FM 6 & Eugene - Installation date of August 12, 2024 NVFD Report (2nd Council Meeting)- N/A CONSENT AGENDA 6. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes = March 19, 2024, and April 16, 2024- Council Member Laye made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Council Member Deering seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 2 REGULAR AGENDA 7. Discuss and take any appropriate action on Ordinance 0050724- Council Member Laye made ai motion to accept the canvas results as presented. Council Member Deering 8. Swearing in of newly elected City ofNevada City Council Members, Benito Ponce for Mayor, Mike City Secretary, Morgan Kowaleski swore in the elected City of Nevada City Council Members: seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Laye for Place #1, and Don Deering for Place #2- Mike Laye - Council Place 1 Don Deering - Council Place 2 Benito Ponce - Mayor 9. Discuss and take any appropriate action on the Legacy Park Addition = Preliminary Plat- P&Z Chairman Newton provided the council with the Planning & Zoning' s recommendation to approve the Legacy Park Addition Preliminary Plat with conditions outlined by the City Engineer, Chris Donnan. Council Member Laye made a motion to accept the Legacy Park Addition Preliminary Plat with the outlined conditions. Council Member Longoria seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 10. Presentation of plan by the owners of an existing 1.9-acre lot located at 635 S. FM 1138 for re- platting of the lot into three lots to accommodate the existing residence and adding two April Dunlap presented her request and answered questions from the City Council. Discuss and take any appropriate action on amending Ordinance 18-06 (Animal Ordinance)- Agenda item #11 was tabled by Mayor Ponce until the May 21st city Council meeting. manufactured housing units 12.
