Also present for today'smeeting were Vice President Randy Laird, Commissioner Eldon Willing, Commissioner Craig N. Mathies Sr., and Commissioner Darryl Webster. County Administrator Ralph D. Taylor, Deputy Administrator Emest J. Leatherbury Jr., and Executive Aide Lory E. Ebron were also present. Closed Session Summary Report A closed session meeting was not held today. President Charles Laird asked Commissioner Willingt tol lead those present in Devotion and Mr. Leatherbury presented meeting minutes for approval regarding the Commissioner and Vice President Randy Laird made ar motion to approve the meeting minutes as presented. She explained that pursuant to the LGIT Trust Agreement, the county must submit "Public Entity" sponsorship letters for the 2024-2025 renewal-year fort theset two component units that the county sponsors. Ms. Muir requested Board approval for the two letters for the primary excess liability program andt they property program as presented for theset two component units for each participant, therefore totaling four (4) letters requiring approval and signature. Commissioner Darryl Webster made a motion to approve the President's signature on the four LGIT sponsorship letters as presented. Commissioner Eldon Willing seconded the motion. Avenue (tree removal and grading) Vicel President Randy Laird made ar motion to approve the' Tipping Fee Waiver request as presented from Mayor Taylor. Commissioner Eldon Willing seconded the motion. By show of hands, the motion carried 5-0. Also, a Tipping Fee Waiver request was received from St. Paul's Episcopal Church regarding debris from the remodeling/demolition of their church. Vice President Randy Laird made a motion to approve the tipping fee waiver request for St. Paul's Episcopal Church as requested. Commissioner Darryl Webster seconded the motion. By show of hands the motion carried 5-0. President Laird advised that Mr. Cavanaugh was asked to hold the invoice as the church was presenting the request for fee waiver. County Engineer John Redden was asked to come forward regarding the press release announcement from the Governor's Office made regarding the $19.6 Million in Broadband Awards to provide internet access to 2,400 Maryland households. Somerset County will be receiving $1.1 Million. Thej purpose oft this fundingi is to go towards running broadband internet to homes withl long lanes.
