The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Denton a RegularScheduled Special Meeting on The following members were in attendance: Mayor Larry Ward, Mayor ProTem Deanna Grubb Monday, April 15, 2024 at 5:30pm at Town Hall. Commissioners: Anne Carter Bean, Barbara Hogan, Hayden Hicks Commissioner: Scott Morris-on fire call and joined meeting late at 5:45pm Town Manager, Angel Jenkins, Town Clerk, Paula Hedrick Absent: Town Attorney, Misti Whitman 1. Call to Order Mayor Ward called the meeting to order. 5:34pm Mayor Ward led the Pledge of Allegiance 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Adoption of Agenda Commissioner Hogan made a motion to adopt agenda 4. Plat Review for Mountain Vista - Angel Jenkins "Commissioner Hicks seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously (4/0) Ms. Jenkins provided an overview of the Mountain Vista Health Park Subdivision Plat Map and requirements. Mountain Vista Health Park is an Assisted Living Facility that provides seniors appropriate level of assistance. The new development on campus will be independent living apartments. Phase 1 will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 will be 3 clusters of 4 units, with 3 different designs, total of 12 apartments, paving, curb and guttering. Phase two will be additional apartment units with a Recreational Building. Total of 38 units The design of the apartment units will consist of: Leftto Right, (1) two bedroom/two bath apartment with a carport (2) One bedroom/one bath no carport (1) one bedroom/one bath with carport All apartments will be rentals, and will be handicap accessible. The units will be brick foundation, hardy board siding. They do meet all set back requirements. They are on Town water and sewer. Ms. Jenkins stated that this does come asa recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board and staff. Commissioner Morris requested to be recused as he serves on the Board for Mountain Vista. The Board of Commissioners agreed that Commissioner Morris would not need to ber recused, since he does not have a financial gain in the decision. "Commissioner Bean made a motion to approve the Plat for Mountain Vista Health Park individual living apartments. *Mayor ProTem Grubb seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously (5/0) 5. Approve Resolution R23/24-15 ARPA funds fori identifying Infrastructure and Inflow (I/I) Ms. Jenkins stated Resolution R23/24-15 acknowledges receipt of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund and the Town of Denton accepts the Grant offer of $774,136.00 for project SRP-W-ARP-0268 to identify and repair I&lwithin the Waste Water Collection system. The Town of Denton does herel give assurance to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) that any Conditions or Assurances contained in the Award Offer will be adhered to.
