The Board of Commissioners of the Town of Denton held a Special Called meeting on The following members were in attendance: Mayor Larry Ward, Mayor ProTem Deanna Commissioners: Anne Carter Bean, Scott Morris, Barbara Hogan, Hayden Hicks  Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 5:30pm at Town Hall.  Grubb  Town Manager, Angel Jenkins, Town Clerk, Paula Hedrick  Absent: Town Attorney, Misti Whitman  1. Call to Order 2. Pledge of Allegiance 3. Adoption of Agenda  Mayor Ward.called the.meeting to order at 5:58pm. Mayor Ward led the Pledgè of Allegiance  Motion made by Mayor ProTem Grubb to approve Agenda.  Second made by Commissioner Hogan. Motion passed unanimously.. (5/0) 4. Presentation and Discussion of the Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Town Manager, Ms. Jenkins opened the floor up for each Department Head leader to present a request for the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 to the Commissioners for consideration. (Department Head presentations are attached to the minutes) 5. Approve Resolutions accepting American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) )funds  R-23/24-10 and R23/24-11.  The North Carolina Clean Water Revolving Loan and Grant Act of 1987 has authorized the making of loans and grants to aid eligible units of government in financing the cost of construction of wastewater treatment works, wastewater collection systems, and water supply systems, water conservation projects and the North Carolina Department of Ms. Jenkins stated that the two resolutions presented for approval are to Approve Resolution for R23/24-10 in the amount of $100,000 for Bar Motion made by Commissioner Bean to approve Resolution R23/24-10 for Second made by Commissioner Hogan. Motion passed unanimously (5/0) Approve Resolution for R23/24-11 in the amount of $400,000 for Motion made by Commissioner Morris to approve Resolution R23/24-11 Second made by Commissioner Bean. Motion passed unanimously (5/0)  Environmental Quality.  accept the ARPA funds for the following projects. Screen/Screw Conveyor Project. the Bar Screen/Screw Conveyor Project.
