Call to Order: by Jennifer Hoffman at 2:02 p.m. Move to Approve: Meeting Minutes from February 23, 2024 Special Meeting Public Comment: None Reports from City Staff: Jamie Schindewolf stated that all of the tree removal permits from December Alyssa Vinson questioned the grand tree designation on commercial property. Ms. Schindewolf will get more details and bring them to the next meeting. Urban Forestry Master Plan update was discussed. Ms. Hoffman stated that with education and tree giveaways, it should be easy to make up some of the changes. Alyssa Vinson said that she will be doing an analysis of her own and will share with the board when complete. She also mentioned that there is funding available for tree planting on public land through a grant from the Florida Forest Service. Ms. Hoffman mentioned that the CRA also has available funds that the board can look into. Ed Dean would like to be able to identify what programs the board should look into and have target areas to tie to the through February are in the board packets. NEW BUSINESS grants. OLD BUSINESS a) Arbor Day Events - 2 planned tree giveaways: Earth Day is on the 20th at Trinity United Methodist Church, and at Palma Sola Botanical Gardens on the 26th, as part of Earth Day. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS Mr. Dean followed up with the Mayor concerning trees being relocated from Manatee Ave. There were 49 trees transplanted. Mr. Dean stated that it was a positive conversation with the Mayor and the City is very involved in relocating the trees with a positive impact for the City.
