Call to Order: Mayor Brown called ther meeting to ordera at 6:00PM. 2. Roll Call by the Mayor: Mayor Brittni Brown, Vice Mayor Kathleen Hamilton, Councilmember Calvin Malone, and Councilmember Carll Livingston were present. Also present: John Reid, Town Attorney, Lee. Jones, Town CEO/CFO 3. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance: Invocation was followed byt the pledge of allegiance. 4. Reading and Approval oft the Agenda: MOTION: Vice Mayor Hamilton moved to approve the agenda; second by Coundimemberlwngston. Public Comments: Ms. Janie Miller asked about helpinside City Hall and asked about updates ont the railroad track and asked about ap part of poncho street that needs to be fixed. 7. Consent Agenda: June 2023 Regular Session Meeting Minutes. Motion: Councilmember Malone moved to approve the consent agenda;seconded by CouncilmemberL Livingston. Jones gave an update on the budget schedule and what it requires as well as what itt takes to put the budget together. Mr.. Jones asked the council if they would consider moving the September 11th meeting to September12as hel has a priore engagement. The council approved Mr. Jones request to move the meeting. Mr.Jones: alsog gave an update ont the activities going onat the communitycenter. Town Attorney. John Reid gave an update on code enforcement and the contract fort the Magistrate and when the first! hearings would be. Mr. Reid also gave an update on the property that the town is trying to acquire. Mr. Reid finished his comments with giving an update on the block partyi issue. Mayor Browng gave an update ont the SRLCMeeting being! held on August 31. Mayor Brown: also gave an update on the ongoing wateri issue andi the steps that are being done to resolve this. Mr Livingston wanted to discuss opening back up the road where the construction ist taking place ont the grocerys store, there will! be af follow up ont this. 10.
