Please note -1 there is at three (3) minute limit. David Drummond (Jackson. Resident) - Presented concerns with speeding down Pine Street and the corner ofMcGee and Pine. Requested follow up with City Manager. Suggests rezoning to 15 mph. Councilmember Gonsalves advised oft the speed trailer that was placed at this location and Jackson PD increased presence for a couple ofv weeks at this location with no issues. Drummond advised the main female speeding down the street comes around 7:45AM and returns between 4:30-5:30PM. Dave McDaniel (Jackson. Resident) - Reported speeding on the completed French Bar Road between 8:15AM-11:45AM and 4PM-5:15PM. Concerns with red lights being run at 49/88 and Main Street/49. Reported increased insurance costs due to needed fire break on Oro de Amador property- stated the June 10, 2024 City Council Meeting Minutes current fire break is not acceptable, and the access/road width is unacceptable. Fire ChiefFishback advised the current firebreak is acceptable. City Manager Simpson advised staffwilll look into the lease agreement. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR. No legal action is Public Works Superintendent, Bree Wilder - Sutter Street Drainage project had aj pre-construction meeting last week- to start Thursday int the parking lot area between Ace Hardware and the library. Update on Poor Man's Bronze sewer- 12 years ago when the ball field was redone the sewer line was damaged installed a storm drain & fence post, causing this backup. The line has now been fixed by Campbell Construction. City will be reimbursing Bronze Man for his incurred costs. Councilmember Gonsalves inquired about a letter from DTSC. Wilder advised the letter refers to the Sutter Street Extension project. June 10, 2024 City Council Meeting Minutes Interim Fire Chief, Dale Fishback - Burning closed June 1, 2024. CalFire also declared fire season. Two new volunteer fire recruits have passed backgrounds and will be available soon. Police Chief, Chris Mynderup Regarding traffic concerns, PD made 222 traffic stops in May, 10 cited for no license/suspended license, 28 infraction citations, and 71 DUI drivers. Encourages residents to continue to report traffic concerns/regular speeding in specific areas to PD for follow up. Vice Mayor Simmons inquired about officer shifts. Mynderup advised typically one on duty with overlaps in shifts. One officer will be promoted tol Detective soon, removing one officer from patrol toi investigations. City Attorney, Josh Nelson - No report. Mynderup, hopefully will fill the position soon. City Manager, Carl P. Simpson - Conducted Fire Chiefinterviews last week with Chiefs Fishback and 5. Attended: a Regional Transit Management Fund meeting with. ACTC on Tuesday. Ribbon cutting through the Chamber ofCommerce tomorrow at Volcano Telephone and in Pine Grove. Parker advised it will run from sundown to the end ofthe fireworks display (approx. 7PM to I0PM). ChiefMynderup advised the area is closed toj parking during the. July 3rd event anyway and ençourages people to park at the High School and take the shuttle down. Summer rhythm and shower program is Receive and provide direction on a Façade Improvement Grant Application - The Estate Planning Mayor McLean introduced the grant application and plan to replace broken tiles at this location. Mayor Mayor McLean asked for public comments. Thornton Consolo requested photos of the façade grant projects and aj preference for preserving the historic look. Mayor McLean advised the archway idea over Main Street is being discussed by an interested group again tomorrow. Downtown streetlights have been repainted, hanging lights installed, and banners being considered. Wilder advised some issues arose with power to the lights. Public Works will look into it further.
