The meeting was  held at the Municipal Complex located at 100 Blackjack Road, Argo, AL: 35173. Councilperson McCarley seconded the motion. Mayor Bradley called for roll call of votes: Griffin-yes, Suggs-abstain, Hopkins-yes, McCarley-yes, Bradley-yes. Councilperson McCarley made al motion to schedule the Budget Work Session to Tuesday, May 28, 2024, directly following the council meeting. Councilperson Griffin seconded the motion. Mayor Bradley called for roll call of votes: Griffin-yes, Suggs-yes, Hopkins-yes, McCarley-yes, Councilperson McCarley made a motion to move the next council meeting to Tuesday, May 28, 2024, due to Memorial Day falling on the regularly scheduled date. Councilperson Griffin seconded the motion. Mayor Bradley called for roll call of votes: Griffin-yes, Suggs-yes, Councilperson Hopkins made a motion to approve the Request for Statement ofQualifications from Engineering Firms for the city to hire a contract engineer. Councilperson McCarley seconded the motion. Mayor Bradley called for roll call ofvotes: Griffin-yes, Suggs-yes, Councilperson Hopkins made a motion to approve the Hold Harmless Agreement to be required for contractors who do work for the city. Item #11 on the agenda: Approval of hiring temporary part-time summer help was tabled. Councilperson Hopkins made ai motion to approve the purchase of a Ford Excursion from the city ofMoody for $3000. This vehicle will mainly be used by the Fire Department but will also be available for general city use. Councilperson Suggs seconded the motion. Mayor Bradley called for roll call of votes: Griffin-yes, Suggs-yes, Hopkins-yes, McCarley-yes, Bradley-yes. POLICE REPORT - Corporal Davis gave the monthly police report. Argo PD had 577 calls FIRE REPORT - Chief Payne gave the monthly fire report. Argo FD had a total of4 48 calls in April. MAYOR REPORT  Argo will bel hosting the Mayor's breakfast on May 22nd at 7:30 am. Newly elected County The Mayor is attending a meeting with ALDOT on May 21st, regarding the Hwy 11/Argo-  Commissioner Joey Stevens will be the speaker.  Margaret turn lane project.
