Motion: to accept the resignation to pass to council to be effective once replacement has been named i.F First motion: Allen ii. Second motion: Brantley b. Discussion of potential new members .E Brantley reports that Carmen and Liz arei interested but did not accept ii. Other potential new members: Patty Davis and. Jamie Allred iii. Action: Godwin will call and discuss with Davis and Allred. She will email results and pass on positive interests to city council. att this time. 5. Update to downtown leases, renovations, etc. a. Updates from Musselwhite: i. Office space above Farmhouse: Allred took downtown office space lease for $7501 for one year (May fori free). Piedmont has signed off. ii. Farmhouse update: Steven and Marilyn proposed a purchase. Wright said he would talk to appraiser. We are waiting on an update. iii. Final cost of building renovations on Holden Oversoul Building (former City Hall): iv. $22,000 was the projected cost. V. $36,000 was the final cost. before 9AME everyday! vi. Crew did great work and have improved appearance! vii. Downtown planters will go out after Mother's Day. Theywilll be water viii. Signs for downtown parking are ready to go up. Signs stating eveningweekend parking availability from Piedmont will go up. ix. Jimmy Davis raised question regarding signs for handicap parking downtown. Musselwhite will followu up. X. 900 Central is under contract. Musselwhite spoke to current owner about building issues. Potential buyer is the owner ofl Mark oft the Potter, and iti is a 60-day close. 6. Discussion of upcoming Fourth of July event a. Musselwhite is looking for a grand marshal. b. T-shirts have been orderedi featuring an elementary child's drawing! Musselwhite is meeting with art teacher, Ms. Thompson, regarding the C. John Berry has been lined upi for entertainment with at least one opening act. e. April LaHayne and hert fourth-grade class suggested as grand marshal. f. Allen: Council wants DDA to run Fourth of July event. It should be a community effort. We don'thave volunteers; we could have more activities g. Ryals suggested a committee to shadow people working on this year. design. Announcement will be made following. d.
