The board agreed to help promote to the best of our ability for the Porch and planet event, the networking event, and the Make Music Day event on our own personal orl business social media platforms until we can gain hopeful access to the Salado Music Friendly social media platforms. 2. Richard reached out to Manuel De La Rosa and Mayor Coggins in regard to the city music. ASCAP license. Richard asked on behalf of a merchant ift the license covers musical events such as Porch and Planet that the Music Friendly community organizes on behalf of the city. Manuel De La Rosa responded that Porch and Planet is considered a community event and not considered a city event. Richard suggested to Mayor Coggins that this be something they could look into if the Salado Music Friendly Advisory Board is going to continue organizing city wide events. Mayor Coggins mentioned that he would meet with Manuel De La Rosa to see how they can assist us. Ideas Discussed: 1. Tim suggested the idea of having another big event on October 5tht to help gain momentum that was lost for this month' porch and Planet event. Richard suggested that we look at what the city of Taylori is doing. They are combining the arts with music and had a recent big event that seemed successful. Richard emailed the board the link to look into the city of Taylors event. The board agreed it was a good idea. Tim suggested we focus on whati is working around us and piggyback off those ideas to help gain momentum in conjunction with our own ideas. We will continue to discuss the future of this event. Networking Events: 1. Kat confirmed that she organized the bimonthly meeting to be held at Terlingua on May 14th. The board decided that the program for that networking event will be a Q&A panel with the Music Friendly Board where the public can ask us questions and make suggestions on what they would like tos see from us as a board. 1. Future Networking Meeting: Richard contacted Holiday Inn awhile back to host our September 10th network meeting and we are waiting to hear back from them. The board chose drumsticks as the instrument that MMD will supply for the event, and she is to order them before May 15th. Richard is to ask if we can hold the event (drum circle) at the Civic Center. Richard will also be hosting a music event at the museum and have a dance group that weekend. We are to discuss budget and expenses for the Make Music Day Event such as signage and advertising in our following board meetings.
