Prayer: Mr. Mark Mitchell Pledge of Allegiance Edit for items not on the agenda: Upon motion made by Mr. Kegley, seconded by Mr. Griffith, the agenda was unanimously approved as edited to remove Becki Joyce oft the Southwest Virginia Technology and Development Center from the agenda and to add the discussion oft the upcoming dedication ofthel Russell County Veterans Memorial Park and the rededication oft the Confederate Monument. Edit and approve minutes from the 09/08/14 council meeting and the 10/02/14 committee Upon motion made by Ms. Jackson, seconded by Mr. Griffith, the minutes from the 09/08/14 council meeting and the 10/02/14 committee meeting were unanimously approved. Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Kegley, the accounts payable for the month of September were unanimously approved. Mr. Phillip McGlothlin was present to discuss the issues that he and approximately three other residents oft the Town View Heights subdivision may have with their existing sewage system and to discuss and request the possibility ofthe Town installing a sewage Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Bolling, the Town Council unanimously authorized Mr. Duty to review the area to determine ifas sewage line could be placed at the requested location and to report the estimated project cost to the Council at the November council meeting. Town Manager's Report: Mr. Duty presented the town manager's report for the month of September. Mr. Duty advised the Town Council that approximately 70 wreaths would be A. Police Department Report: Mr. Mitchell presented the police department report for Town Attorney Report: Mr. Tiller presented a draft of the proposed policy for remote Upon motion made by Mr. Bolling, seconded by Mr. Griffith, the Town Council unanimously voted to adopt the policy as presented. The vote was as follows: Mr. Boyd, Aye; Mr. Bolling, Aye; Mr. Kegley,Aye; Mr. Griffith, Aye; Ms. Jackson, Aye; Mr. Mr. Tiller also advised the Council that he had received notice of a class action lawsuit settlement regarding municipal derivatives. Mr. Duty advised that he would contact Mr. Daniel Siegel, municipal finance attorney, to determine ift the Town is an eligible line to serve their homes. New Business: Dedication Ceremonies Mayor Dodi informed the Council and staff members of the Lebanon VFW Post 9864's upcoming dedication oft the Russell County Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. He advised that the Johnson City Chapter of] Rolling Thunder, Inc. would be attending and assisting in the ceremony. Mayor Dodi also informed the Council and staff members oft the upcoming rededication oft the Confederate Monument on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 1:00P.M. XII. XIII.
