Prayer: Mayor Dodi Pledge of Allegiance Edit for items not on the agenda:  Upon motion made by Mr. Kegley, seconded by Mr. Ferguson, the agenda was unanimously approved. The vote was as follows: Mr. Boyd, Aye; Mr. Kegley, Aye; Ms. Jackson, Aye; Mr. Edit and approve minutes from the 6/12/17 regular council meeting and the 06/21/2017 Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Ferguson, the minutes from the 6/12/17 regular council meeting were unanimously approved. Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Fields, the minutes from the 06/21/2017 reconvened council meeting were approved as edited to correct Item VI motion which was to purchase two Chevrolet Trucks amount $29,937.00 each. Reconvened Council Meeting:  VI.  Approve accounts payable and capital assets for the month of June:    Upon motion made by Mr. Gilmer, seconded by Mr. Boyd, the accounts payable and capital assets for the month of. June were unanimously approved, ask that all future credit card transaction be listed on the accounts payable. Mr. Reggie Childers appreciates the paving work on Main Street. In addition, he informed the Council having issue with airi ini the water line and concerns of speeding on Church Street. Mr. Childers discussed with Council about Grant for the Downtown Revitalization B. Dustin Keith with Russell County Health Coalition discussed with Council the Farm-To- Table Dinner Event, tickets are available online and also at' Town Hall. Mr. Keith also Thanked Council for the donation 2017 After Graduation Party, about 122 students attended plus guest. Mr. Keith informed Council that Suicide rate in Southwest Virginia is two times state average, additional training on Suicide Prevention at Southwest Virginia Higher C.A Angela Carpenter, Director for Russell County Chamber of Commerce, spoke concerning the following events she is currently working on. These include an Annual Town Yard Sale and Christmas Bazaar at the Russell County Conference Center. May request all small local businesses to extend their hours for Saturday and Sunday after Black Friday.  project.  Education Center in Abingdon, Virginia, August 3, 2017.  VIII. Town Manager's! Report:  Mr. Duty presented the Town Manager'sreport: for the month of. June.  A. Police Department Report: None Town Attorney Report: None New Business:  IX. X.  A. The Annual Employee Picnic set for August 15, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. Bonanza Family  Restaurant will cater event. Recess: 6:52P.M. Resume: 6:57P.M.  XI. XII.  XIII. Enter closed session: 6:57 P.M.  A. Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Kegley, the Town Council unanimously voted to go into closed session under Code Section 2.2-3711(A)(1): for the purpose of discussing personnel issues. Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Ms. Jackson, the Town Council unanimously voted to return to regular session.
