Accounts Payable: Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Kegley, the capital assets and May 2017 accounts payable were unanimously approved. The Town Council recessed from regular session: 6:08 P.M. B. Mayor Dodi opened the public hearing: 6:08 P.M. C. No public comments. VIII. Mayor Dodi closed the public hearing: 6:09 P.M. IX. Public Requests: A. Boys & Girls Club of the Mountain Empire: Mr. Dick Collins, CEO ofthe Boys & Girls Club ofthe Mountain Empire, informed the Council that the organization was considering expanding into Lebanon and other local communities. He explained that the organization's children' s programs focus on1 three main goals: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character & citizenship. He further advised the Council that the organization was currently performing online surveys to determine the needs and interests in Lebanon. X. Resolutions: A. Larry T. Cole Retirement Resolution: Upon motion made by Mr. Kegley, seconded by Mr. Fields, the Council unanimously voted to approve the resolution! honoring Larry T. Cole, Chief Water Plant Operator, for 15 years of dedicated service to the Town ofLebanon. The vote was as follows: Mr. Boyd, Aye; Mr. Kegley, Aye; Ms. Jackson, Aye; Mr. Fields, Aye; Mr. Ferguson, Aye; Mr. Gilmer, Aye. B. National Nursing Home Week: Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Kegley, the Council unanimously voted to approve the resolution declaring May 14 through May 20, 2017 as National Nursing Home Week in Lebanon. Town Manager's Report: Mr. Duty presented the Town Manager's report for the month ofMay and informed the Council of the street paving schedule and locations. A. Police Department Report: ChiefMitchell presented the police department report for the month ofl May. Mayor Dodi requested that Mr. Mitchell honor and recognize Ptl. Ashley Bise and Ptl. Tyler Hart for their successful completion oft the Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy's Law Enforcement Officer Certification Program. XII. New Business: A. 2016 Audit Report: Mr. Hubbard provided the Council with the audited financial report for the Town ofLebanon for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016. He informed the Council that the Town's independent auditors had reported no: findings once again for the tenth (10")consecutive year. XIII. Committee Reports and Recommendations: A. Ms. DeAnna C. Jackson, Parks & Recreation Committee Chairwoman, provided a summary oft the May 31,2017 Parks & Recreation Committee meeting and gymnasium tour at Lebanon Community Fellowship. XIV. Recess: 6:42P.M. Upon motion made by Mr. Boyd, seconded by Mr. Kegley, the Town Council unanimously voted to go into closed session under Code Section 2.2-3711(A)(I) and (7) for the purpose of discussing personnel and legal issues.
