Johnston presented proclamations to declare May as Community Action Month and celebrating its 60th anniversary and May 10th as Child Care Appreciation Day. BOOK 28 PAGE 553 May 6, 2024 Page #2 Rob Kimble was recognized to discuss an opportunity for Barbour County to consider administering blood transfusions ini the field for trauma situations. He explained the criteria for administration and counties that conduct whole blood transfusions and their success. Dylan Oliveto added that WVis thet first state in the country to provide statewide protocols and rural areas, like Barbour, would greatly benefit. Further discussions will be held" with the Barbour County Ambulance Authority board. Commissioner Strait added his appreciation to Rob Kimble and the Health Net team for facilitating and conducting an excellent training exercise for Barbour County EMS staff and Broaddus ER staff. Learning to work together and collaborate ahead of an emergency will allow for positive outcomes. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 17, 2024 at 9:00am.
