Committee Business A. Partner Updates Florida Forever Ms. Carvalho provided a brief update regarding the Florida Forever application. She stated that they worked with the North Florida Land Trust and successfully submitted the Florida Forever application for the Atlantic to Okefenokee Corridor. She explained that there has been the first round of review presented to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Committee, and received a yes on the first step for the Florida Forever project. Discussion ensued regarding owner's permission to access properties. Current Project updates 240118 CLAM B. 1/2 North Florida Land Trust Presentation: Byron Flagg, North Florida Land Trust, came forward to provide a PowerPoint presentation and a brief update regarding the North Florida Land Trust projects. He reviewed the acquisition process which includes the development of the priority ranking system, the properties nominated and selected, the resolution adopting the priority and eligibility list, outreach to the property owners on the list, conversations with the interested property owners, and the actual acquisition process steps. He discussed the CLAM ranking priority list, outline of the properties, and their potential conservation use. He reviewed two new conservation easement possibilities, the St. Mary's Farm, LLC and St. Mary's River Ranch, LLC, and two new nominated parcels. Discussion ensued regarding property owner outreach and the nominated properties. C. He advised that letters were sent out to property owners and responses have been received from over half including, Piney Island, Orange Bluff (Rayonier), Prospect Landing, Lofton Creek Viewshed (UMC), Dudley Island, St. Mary's River Ranch (Hixon), St. Marys River Ranch (Schnauss), and St. Marys River Ranch (St. Mary's Farm).
