CITY OF BRADBURY REGULAR MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, July 18, 2023 Bradbury Civic Center Regular Meeting ofthe City of Bradbury City Council CALL TO ORDER - The Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bradbury was called to order by Mayor Barakat 7:00pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: Mayor Barakat, Mayor Pro Tem Hale, Councilmembers Bruny & Lathrop ABSENT: Councilmember Lewis. STAFF: City Manager Kearney, City Attorney Reisman & City Clerk Jensen. City Manager Kearney asked that Councilmember Lewis be excused. Mayor Barakat made a motion to excuse Councilmember Lewis and Councilmember Lathrop seconded the motion which carried unanimously without any objections. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Councilmember Brunymade a motion to approve the agenda which was seconded by Councilmember Lathrop. The motion carried unanimously. AWARD OF BID - LEMON AVENUE TRAIL PROJECT Dave Gilbertson, City Engineer, explained he has verbal approvals from 5 of the 8 owners concerning the indemnity language in the proposed easement agreement and will have two more this week. He received a letter from the attorney representing 1550 Lemon this morning and confidant any issues will be resolved. Dave asked Council to approve the bid of $181,597.10 from SDC Engineering and to authorize the City Manager to execute the project and begin construction around Mayor Barakat opened the discussion to public comment. PRESENTATION - CAL AMERICAN WATER Presenting from Cal Am Water on PFOA, PFOS, PFHXS Notification Level Exceedance at Crownhaven Well were Brian Barreto, External Affairs Manager, Southern California; Mike Phillips, Water Quality Manager, Southern California and Evan Jacobs, Director of Communications and External Affairs. CC Minutes July 18, 2023 Discussed the recent spike in nigner-tnan-norma levels of PFOS (manufactured chemicals) found in the Crownhaven Well, which mixes with other well's water and makes up only 4% of Duarte's water system. Until an answer is found on WHY the Crownhaven Well- had a spike in these manufactured chemicais, the Well will remain shut down. Cai Am has not tested other wells for similar spikes but plans to.
