Resolution No. 2021-21 A Resolution of the City Council ofthe City ofJackson Approving the Use of SB1: The Road Repair and Accountability Act Funding for City Street Projects for FY2021-22 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), the Road Repair and Accountability Actof2017 (Chapter 5, Statutes of2017) was passed by the Legislature and Signed into law by the Governor in April 2017; and WHEREAS, the City ofJackson must include al list of all projects proposed to receive funding from the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA), created by SB1,in the City's budget which must include a description and the location of each proposed project, a proposed schedule for the project's completion, and the estimated useful life oft the improvement, shown as Attachment A; and Fiscal Year 2021/22 from SB1; and WHEREAS, the City of] Jackson, will receive an estimated $93,362 in RMRA funding in WHEREAS, the City ofJ Jackson has been using a Pavement Management System to develop its Capital Improvement Program project list, and SB1 funding will help provide funding for the most high-priority and cost-effective projects that also meet the community's priorities for transportation investment; and WHEREAS, future funding from SB1 will help the City of. Jackson maintain and WHEREAS, the City Council repeals the previously adopted Resolution No. 2021-18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that City Council of the City of. Jackson rehabilitate roadways; and Approving the Use of SB1 funds and replaces it with this Resolution. does hereby approve the following: The 2021-2022 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account revenues will be carried over tol Fiscal Year budget 2022-2023 to fund the Mattley Street Hillside Repair Project which is estimated to cost $272,000 and last approximately 50 to 80 years. The site is located in Jackson at the intersection Hwy 49/88 and Main Street (the City parking lot across the street from the firehouse). The bank has access at the top (Mattley St.) and the bottom (parking lot). The City Engineer is proposing use of mesh and soil nails to stabilize the bank that supports Mattley Street. This is toj prevent Mattley Street from collapsing down the hill onto Hwy. 49. Estimated Completion Schedule: FY2022-23.
